ADAPTIVE DIVISION
IN COLLABORATION WITH ADAPTIVE TRAINING FINLAND
who can participate?
In the Adaptive Division, we recognize different abilities and provide an opportunity to compete on an equal playing field.

Teams in the Adaptive Division consist of three mixed athletes. All athletes on the same team must be classified as either seated or standing. As a general rule, all team members should be adaptive athletes.

We aim to help everyone find a team — send a message to ATF on Instagram or by email if you’re looking for teammates!
CLASSIFICATION
An official CrossFit Inc. classification is not required, but CrossFit’s classification system is used to guide workout modifications. Therefore, we ask for your classification during registration.

When registering, you’ll be asked to select your team’s category (seated or standing) — your own assessment of the appropriate class is sufficient.

We use CrossFit’s classification system as the basis for workout programming, as this is a CrossFit-licensed competition.
You can read the class descriptions here:

Adaptive division still has a few spots available!
REGISTRATION
The team captain is registers the team for the competition. The captain must have a profile on Competition Corner—please create this well in advance of registration.

When registering, you’ll need to provide the team name, and the names, email addresses and CrossFit ID:s (read more here) of all team members.
In addition, we will ask for your team’s estimated skill level based on the classification below, to help us place teams in similar-level heats on competition day.

Level 1. Team members handle movements typical of CrossFit, including toes to bar, pull up, double under, and rope climbing. In coached classes, most of the workouts need to be scaled down in terms of weights and/or repetitions.

Level 2. Team members handle movements typical of CrossFit (including toes to bar, pull up, double under, and rope climbing), but occasionally scale down the exercises in coached classes in terms of weights or repetitions.

Level 3. Team members handle movements typical of CrossFit and are generally able to complete the exercises in coached classes without scaling.

If your team includes athletes of varying skill levels, choose the level that matches the skill level of athletes you want to compete alongside.

The team entry fee is €285 + platform fee.
Please note that registration is binding, and the fee is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Participants are not insured by the organizer.
You can alter team members on Competition Corner until January 25, 2026. However, you cannot change the team captain by yourself. If a captain change is needed, please contact us at info@turkutuomiopaiva.com.
ADAPTIVE
If you have specific requests for movement adaptations beyond standard modifications for your classification, please note them upon registration. For example, if you know you need a box on stage to assist with squats or weightlifting.

An assistant or interpreter is permitted on stage for athletes in the vision, seated, intellectual, and neuro major categories. Deaf athletes may also bring an interpreter. Entry for assistants and interpreters is included in the competitor ticket.

Athletes are required to bring their own specialized equipment if needed, such as LapMats, Multi Ropes, Monoropes, and grip gloves. Homemade equipment is also acceptable.

Turku Turbulence's official afterparty will be held in the center of Turku in the new karaoke & nightclub, Duetto! As an athlete, you can buy your afterparty ticket on Competition Corner upon registration.
